"Writing is a hoot-and-a-half... and also the worst rollercoaster that only plummets downwards towards a giant flame pit. Maybe there's a small water gun to lessen the burn. You question your sanity and try to resist killing off every single character. And then, of course, there’s editing, where you laugh so you don't cry and are somehow compelled to keep going. It’s a love-hate relationship."
